B.S. degree in civil engineering from Penn State

M.A.T. in secondary education in math from Piedmont College

Gifted certification

After graduating from Penn State I worked as an structural engineer first in Houston, Texas designing large offshore drilling platforms, and next in Huntsville, Alabama in the space shuttle program. (A student asked me if that means I was a rocket scientist! Let's say yes.) I was lucky to be able to stay home with my children as a fulltime mom until they went off to school. Since that time I have worked in surveying and civil engineering offices, and most recently with my husband in our own civil engineering business. Throughout the years I have done much teaching as a math tutor, cub scout leader and church Sunday school teacher. This is my sixth year teaching middle school and secondary math. I truly believe we will achieve great accomplishments this year at Wilbanks!

My husband is also an engineer and we have lived in Clarkesville for twenty years. We have four sons. My older two sons are married to lovely Habersham girls, and the oldest is an excellent artist and works as a storyboard artist for the Nickelodeon show Fairly Odd Parents. My second son is a doctor working on his residency, and Son #3 is a senior Georgia Bulldog studying computer science. My youngest son is a student at North Georgia. We also have a wonderful Boykin Spaniel named Burdy. I enjoy playing guitar and mandolin, reading, and travelling in my spare time.
